Abstract
[Objective]To analyze the results of HIV/AIDS epidemic surveillance in Wuhua County of Guangdong Province from 1999-2011 and its epidemic trend, and provide a scientific basis for prevention and control of AIDS.[Methods]The epidemic information of HIV/AIDS in China from 1999 to 2011 reported by national AIDS prevention and control system was comprehensively analyzed.[Results] From 1999-2011,a total of 65 HIV/AIDS cases with present address in Wuhuan County were reported, among which 39 were HIV infected,26 were AIDS patients,22 death cases caused by of HIV/AIDS,the ratio of male to female was 1.83∶1.The age ranged from 5 to 61 years old, most of whom were at the age of 20-49(81.54%).Farmers were the majority with the rate of 33.85%,sexual transmission was the major route of infection, accounting for 60%,injections of drugs occupied 6.15%.[Conclusion] The present prevalence rate of AIDS is low in Wuhua County but there is a probability that HIV virus transmitting may go up from high-risk population to general population.Strengthening surveillance and testing efforts and the management of epidemic situation, actively advancing the health education and health improvement and other means of intervention,AIDS routine testing in hospitals of country level, carrying out AIDS voluntary counseling, and strictly enforcing the safety management of blood and blood products are the important measures for the prevention and control of AIDS.
