Abstract
Objective To analyze epidemic and trend of HIV/AIDS in Henan Province.Methods Based on the continuous data of HIV/AIDS surveillance in 18 cities and all counties of Henan Province,aspecial survey was conducted by the Henan CDC in parallel with general investigation on former paid blood donors,while database and comprehensive analysis were developed.Results The total person-time of surveillance on various high risk population was 4 317 744 from 1988~2005;31 578 persons were confirmed HIV positive;19 488 AIDS patients were confirmed;4 891 cases died of HIV/AIDS.Conclusion HIV/AIDS epidemic is low in Henan Province at present.However,the prevalence rate of HIV is concentrated and rising in some areas.HIV transmission through blood donation has been controlled.
