Abstract
[Objective] To detect the expression of P53 and PTEN proteins,in gastric carcinoma.[Methods] The immunohistochemical method was used to examine the expression of P53 and PTEN proteins in gastric carcinoma,paratumorous lesions and gastritis.[Results] The positive rate of P53 expression was 88.7% in gastric carcinoma,which was significantly higher than that in paratumorous lesions(11.3%) and gastritis(23.5%) respectively(P0.05).The positive rate of PTEN expression was 64.5% in gastric carcinoma,which was significantly lower than that in gastritis(91.2%,P0.05).In 55 cases of gastric carcinoma with P53 protein expression,21 cases did not express PTEN protein,while in 7 cases of gastric carcinoma without P53 protein expression, only one case did not express PTEN protein.[Conclusion] The higher expression of P53 protein and the lower expression of PTEN protein may exist in gastric carcinoma.
