Abstract
Objectives:To study the correlation between PTEN and p27 expression in gastric carcinoma.Methods:Immunohistochemistry was applied to examine the expression of PTEN and p27 in 36 cases of human gastric carcinoma,10 cases of tumor-side ward mucosa and 8 cases of normal gastric mucosa.Results:Positive expressive rates of PTEN(61.11%,22/36) and p27(63.89%,23/36) in gastric cancer were lower than those in normal gastric epithelium(100%,8/8) ,but without significant differences(P0.05) .The expression of PTEN and p27 in gastric cancer correlated with each other(r=0.3043,P0.05) .Conclusion:The abnormal expression of tumor suppressor gene PTEN and p27 participate the malignant conversion process of the gastric mucosa cell and the expression levels of the PTEN and p27 protein may be used to evaluate the pathologic biology behavior of gastric carcinoma.
