Abstract

By using the documentaty metrology,the 494 articles in the 20 issues of Journal of South China Normal University(Natural Science Edition) during the years 2004-2008 were quantitatively analyzed.It is indicated that the thesis-published number and the information density are relatively stable.Articles concerning foundation items make up 65.33%,and the average of time lag of publishing period is 265.76d.The rate of coauthoring and the average number of authors for one article are 84.00% and 2.84 respectively.The first authors who own senior titles account for 27.13%,and 78.95% of the authors are at the age of less than 40.
