Abstract

Objective:To investigate the protective effects of the ethanolic extract from Potentilla chinensis Ser.(PS) on mice acute hepatic injury induced by CCl-4.Methods:Mice were administracted with the ethanolic extract from Potentilla chinensis Ser.ig.5g·kg -1,3g·kg -1,1.8g·kg -1 daily for 7d respectively after the hepatic injury was induced by ip.10ml·kg -1 0.1% carbon tetrachloride. After 16h,serum alanine aminotransferase(ALT and AST) activity were measured, and Maleic Dialdehyde (MDA) in liver was detected. Results:The ethanolic extract from PS significantly reduce the level of serum ALT and AST,and inhabited lipoperoxidation in liver. Conclusion:Potentilla chinensis ser.showed protective effects on mice acute hepatic injury.
