Abstract

Objective:To explore the changing concentrations of urinary transforming growth-factor beta1(TGF-β_1)and their relations in type 2 diabetes mellitus patients would offer helps of clinical dignosis and treatment.Methods:60 cases diabetes mellitus patients were divided into diabetes mellitus group(DM,30) and diabetic nephropathy group(DN,30) according to urine albumin excretion rate(UAER).UAER、β_2-microglobulin(β_2-M) and TGF-β_1 were detected respectively in all cases. Results The urinary excretion rates of TGF-β_1 in diabetics with nephropathy, type 2 diabetics group were markedly higher than without nephropathy and the normal control group. Moreover, the excretion rates of TGF-β_1 increased with the increase of UAER.Conclusion:TGF-β_1 is related to diabetic nephropathy and β_2-M.UAER.Urinary excretion rates of TGF-β_1 could be used for early diagnosis of diabetic renal dysfunction as well as monitoring the disease process.
