Abstract
Ninety-six crossbred(Landrace × Yorkshire) pigs(28±2) were assigned to 4 groups with 4 replications.Piglets in treatments were fed diets supplemented with 0,0.1%,0.2%,0.4% Chinese herbal additives respectively to study the effects of Chinese herbal additives on the serum antioxidant traits. The test lasted 21 days. The experiment showed that the dietary supplements of Chinese herbal increased antioxidation of pigs with best effect at 7th day after ablactation.0.2% and 0.1% Chinese herbal group decreased the content of serum hydroxyl radical and MDA by 16.4% and 8.5%(p0.05).0.2% Chinese herbal group increased total antioxidant capacity by 31.0%(p0.05).0.1% Chinese herbal group decreased the content of serum hydroxyl radical and increased total antioxidant capacity by 9.5% and higher 22.8% at 14th day after ablactation.(p0.05).No difference was tested at 21st day after ablactation(p0.05).Dietary supplement of 0.1% Chinese herbal medicine was the best.
