Abstract

AIM To investigate and compare the pharmacokinetics of omeprazole in Chinese Korean and Han healthy volunteers after oral administration. METHODS Ten Chinese Korean and 10 Han healthy volunteers were given a single oral dose of omeprazole tablet 40 mg. The plasma concentration of omeprazole were determined by HPLC. The pharmacokinetic parameters were calculated with DAS ver 2.0.1 software. RESULTS The main pharmacokinetic parameters of omeprazole in Chinese Korean and Han were as follow:ρmax were (828±539) and (760±581) mg·L-1,tmax were (3.5±1.5) and (2.7±0.8) h,t1/2 were (1.3±0.8) and (1.6±1.3) h,AUC0-12 were (2 635±2 104) and (1 438±798) mg·h·L-1,AUC0-∞ were (2 816±2 419) and (1 470±769) mg·h·L-1,respectively. CONCLUSION There is no significant difference in the pharmacokinetic parameters between Chinese Korean and Han healthy volunteers after a single dose of 40 mg omeprazole tablet oral administration.
