Abstract

Objective To investigate the curative effects of Cyclosporine A (CaA) combined with androgen on treating aplastic anemia. Methods Patients with aplastic anemia were divided randomly into 2 groups: Cyclosporine A group (treat with CsA combined with androgen) and control group (treat with androgen along). The blood changes, the effective rate and the survival rate were observed for 6~30 months. Results The total response rate in CsA group was 76 %, while in the control group was 47.8% ( P 0.05). Conclusions The effectiveness of CsA combined androgen in treating aplastic anemia was better than that with androgen alone. When the treatment with androgen alone failed, the combined treatment should be taken into consideration.
