COMBINED TREATMENT OF ADULT APLASTIC ANAEMIA WITH CYCLOSPORIN A AND ANDROGEN

ObjectiveTo evaluate the therapeutic efficacy of cyclosporin A (CsA) combined with androgen on adult aplastic anaemia(AA).MethodsFourty six patients with AA were respectively treated with androgen only, androgen combined with routine-dose CsA(8～12 mg/kg·d) or low-dose CsA( 2.5 ～5 mg/kg·d).ResultsAmong 23 cases in CsA with androgen combination group, 5 patients were cured,5 patients obtained remission,6 patients were improved significantly and 7 patients were improved. The total response rate was 69.23 % ;Among 23 cases in androgen group,1 patient was cured, 3 patients obtained remission,4 patients were improved significantly,15 patients were not improved,the total response rate was 34.78 % (P 0.05 ); Low-dose CsA had as good response as routin-dose CsA(P 0.05 ) and had few side effects.ConclusionCsA in combination with androgen regimen for treatment of adult aplastic anaemia is safe, effective;Low-dose CsA has the same effects as routine-dose CsA and is safe, more economic and convenient.
