Abstract
Objective To evaluate the eradication rate of ten days sequential therapy consisted of rabeprazole, amoxicillin, levofloxacin and furazolidone for Helicobacter pylori(Hp) infection. Methods Totally 88 Hp-infected patients with peptic ulcer or chronic gastritis diagnosed by gastroscopy were enrolled. These patients were randomly divided into trial group(n=44) and control group(n=44).Patients in trial group received rabeprazole, amoxicillin for the first 5 days, and followed by rabeprazole, levofloxacin and furazolidone for the last 5 days, and patients in control group received rabeprazole, clarithromycin and amoxicillin for 7 days. The status of Hp in patients of these two groups was compared after completion of treatment. Results The eradication rate of sequential therapy for ten days was 90.9% and that of control group was 75.0%.There was significant difference between these two groups(P0.05).Conclusion The 10-day sequential therapy comprising rabeprazole and levofloxacin can achieve a higher eradication rate of Hp.
