Abstract

Objective To investigate the efficacy and safety of rabeprazole combined with levofloxacin and furazolidone in eradication of helicobacter pylori(Hp) infection. Methods 158 patients with chronic gastritis or peptic ulcer with Hp infection were divided into two groups at random. The treatment group was treated by rabeprazole(10mg,bid) combined with levofloxacin(200mg,bid) and furazolidone(100mg,bid) for 7 days. The patients with peptic ulcer were given rabeprazole(10mg,qd) for 3 wks after the 7th day.The control group was given rabeprazole(10mg,bid) combined with amoxicillin(1000mg,bid) and clarithromycin(500mg,bid) for 7 days. The patients with peptic ulcer were administered the same as the treatment group after the 7th day.The symptomatic relief rate, ulcer concrescence rate, eradication rate of Hp and adverse reactions were recorded 4 weeks after the treatment course terminated. Results The symptomatic relief rate, ulcer concrescence rate and adverse reactions of the treatment group and control group were 91.9%(68/74),89.7%(35/39),8.1%(6/74)and 90.1%(64/71),88.1%(37/42),7.0%(5/71)respectively.There wasn't significant difference between the two groups(P0.05).However,the eradication rate was 90.5%(67/74)and 71.8%(51/71)respectively.The treatment group was higher than the control group(P0.01).Conclusion Rabeprazole combined with levofloxacin and furazolidon triple therapy for Hp infection is effective and has smaller adverse effect. It is worth to be recommended as one of the treatments for Hp infection.
