Abstract

OBJECTIVE:To observe the efficacy of sequential treatment with rabeprazole combined with different antibiotic on Helicobacter pylori(Hp) infection.METHODS:Hp infection was confirmed by the 14C-urea breath test in 186 peptic ulcer or chronic gastritis patients confirmed by gastroscopy.Patients were randomly divided into observation group and the control group with each of 93 cases.Patients in the observation group were treated with tetracycline+clarithromycin+ rabeprazole for 5 days, followed by rabeprazole+levofloxacin+furazolidone for 5 days. The control group was treated with rabeprazole+amoxicillin+clarithromycin for 10 days.14C-urea breath test was carried out 4 weeks later after the treatment was finished.RESULTS:Hp eradication rate of the observation group and control group were 93.5%,78.5%,respectively(P0.01).The incidence of side effects of the 2 groups was not statistically different(P0.05).CONCLUSION:Sequential therapy of rabeprazole combined with different antibiotics can significantly improve the eradication rate of Hp,and show slightly lower incidence of adverse reactions.
