Abstract

Objective:To evaluate the expression of in bcl-2 and P53 protein in prostatic hyperplasia and prostatic carcinoma. Methods: Immunohistochemical method was used to detect bcl-2 and P53 in 40 cases with prostatic carcinoma.Resutls:The expression rate of bcl-2 were mainly located in the epithelial cells and stromal cell in the normal prostatic and the BPH.In the prostatic carcinoma, the coexpression of bcl-2 and P53 correlated significantly with the grade of the tumor(P0.01),they have a close correlation(P0.05),while the rate of them was 35.0%and 37.5 % in prostatic carcinomas, with which patients lived shorter than those with negative expression of both mark(P0.01).Conclusions:Overexpression of bcl-2 and P53 protein and their aberrant modulations may play important roles in the pathogenesis of BPH and prostatic carcinoma. They might serve as indicatora to the clinical stage and prognosis of prostatic carcinoma.
