Abstract
Objective To explore and compare the clinical efficacy of olsalazine and sulfadiazine in treatment of patients with ulcerative colitis. Methods 88 confirmed patients with ulcerative colitis randomly selected from September 2014 and August 2013 were divided into study group and control group by coin toss with 44 in each one. The patients in the study group were treated with olsalazine while those in the control group were treated with sulfadiazine. The clinical efficacy and adverse reaction were compared between the two groups. Results Two different therapeutic methods were adopted for the patients in the two groups respectively, and the overall effective rate(93.18% vs 77.27%, χ2=4.217, P 0.05) was obviously higher in the study group than in the control group with statistically significant difference. The total adverse reaction rate(6.82% vs 27.27%, χ2=4.513, P 0.05) was obviously lower in the study group than in the control group with statistically significant difference. Conclusion Compared with sulfadiazine, olsalazine shows much better clinical efficacy in treating patients with ulcerative colitis, meanwhile it is of high safety and less adverse reaction, therefore it is worthy of clinical promotion.
