Abstract
Objective To explore the clinical effect and safety of olsalazine for the treatment of ulcerative colitis. Methods 140 patients with ulcerative colitis in our hospital from April 2012 to April 2014 were selected and divided into two groups. 70 cases of control group were treated with sulfasalazine by oral administration, while 70 cases of observation group were treated with olsalazine by oral administration. The total treatment course was 8 weeks of two groups. The clinical effects and adverse reactions of two groups were compared. Results After 2 months of treatment, the total effective rates of observation group and control group were 77.14% and 70.00%,with no statistical difference(P = 0.338). The incidence of adverse reactions of observation group was 5.71%, significantly lower than17.14% of control group(P = 0.034). Conclusions Olsalazine has significant efficacy and high safety for the treatment of ulcerative colitis.
