Clinical Study of the Orthodontic Treatment of Bimaxillary Protrusion with Microsrew Implant Anchorage

Abstract

Objective:To study the change of hard tissue following treatment of bimaxillary protrusion using microsrew implant anchorage or not.Methods:Twelve patients with bimaxillary protrusion were randomly divided into two groups.In group Ⅰ patients were not treated using microsrew implant anchorage and in group Ⅱ patients were treated using microsrew implant anchorage.The cephalometric films before and after treatment with two measures evaluated the clinical effect of bimaxillary protrusion treatment with microsrew implant anchorage.Results:All the facial profiles were improved significantly.In group Ⅰ the edge of the upper and lower incisors were retracted 3.69mm and 3.56mm respectively,the molar moved anteriorly 2.36mm averagely.In group Ⅱ the edge of the upper and lower incisors were retracted 4.93mm and 4.26mm respectively and the molar moved anteriorly 1.12mm averagely.Conclusion:More effective clinical effect could be achieved using microsrew implant anchorage,which retracted upper and lower teeth more.
