Abstract
Objective This research was conducted to study the effect of Orem self-care theory and psychological nursing on tumor patients after chemotherapy.Method 140 patients from Radiotherapy Department of Nanfang hospital were randomly divided into treatment group and control group according to the sequence of admission. The control group was given regular grading nursing care, while the treatment group received Orem self-care and psychological nursing based on regular grading nursing care.We aimed to compare with the incidence of adverse reaction, the incidence of anxiety and depression and patients satisfaction with nursing service of two groups. Results Compared with the control group, the treatment group had a lower incidence of gastrointestinal reaction(P0.05),and had a lower incidence of anxiety and depression as well(P0.05).In addition, the patients satisfaction of treatment group was 97.1%,higher than the control group which was only 73.3%.Conclusion Self-care and psychological nursing on tumor patients during the chemotherapy can significantly relieve the anxiety and depression and reduce the gastrointestinal reaction, while it can also improve the patients satisfaction with nursing service.
