Abstract
The present paper proposes on the basis of Reception Aesthetics that the active interpretation of the source text and translated text by translators and target language readers definitely affects the process and result of poetry translation from Chinese to English. The author argues that the relationship of the translator and the source text as well as that of the reader and the translated text is bidirectional. Some attentions are suggested:the translator's creativity is limited by the source text;the translator should leave enough imaginary room for the reader;the translator should be concerned with the expected reader's horizon of expectation.
