Abstract

Objective To observe the effect of angiotensin receptor antagonist losartan on urinary albumin excretion of diabetic nephropathy (DN) patients. Methods 47 DN patients with well-controlled blood pressure and corresponding controls were selected.50 mg losartan was given to the therapy group. Urinary albumin excretion of the first, the third and the sixth month and other biochemistry indexes were detected. Result Urinary albumin of the first, the third and the sixth month of the therapy group decreased markedly (P0.01,between different subgroups),and there was significant statistic differences between the treatment and the control group(P0.01).Conclusion Losartan is a drug with action of decreasing urinary albumin excretion of DN patients without association with its effects of lowering blood pressure.
