Abstract
Objective To study the necessity of the screening and confirmation of Treponema pallidum infection by three serologic tests. Methods 34 933 serum samples were screened by ELISA method on Treponema pallidum antibody. The samples with probable positive result were retested by toluidine red unheated serum test(TRUST) and Treponema pallidum particle assay(TPPA).Results There were 559 serum samples with probable positive result. There were 423 TPPA positive result samples and 210 TRUST positive result samples among the total. Conclusion To report the three results obtained from different methods which have their respective value to clinical doctors would be helpful for their synthetic diagnose and the decrease of medical fiction.
