Abstract
With starch as main chain segment,DMC as functional monomer, styrene(St) and butyl acrylate(BA) as modified monomers,so a soap-free starch-based cation styrene-acrylate emulsion was prepared by seed emulsion copolymerization. The influences of reaction conditions were discussed on emulsion stability and emulsion film performances, the structure of emulsion polymer was characterized by FT-IR method. The result showed that the modified emulsion had optimal combination property when mass ratio of m(DMC)∶m(starch+St+BA),m(starch)∶m(St+BA) and m(St)∶m(BA) were 0.8∶1,1.00∶3 and 1.50∶1 respectively, copolymerization temperature was 80 ℃,mass fraction of initiator was 2% and mass ratio of m(KPS)∶m(NaHSO3) was 2∶1.
