Treatment of senile hypertension with insomnia by "Erbai Jiangya Decoction":A report of 30 cases

Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of Erbai Jiangya Decoction in the treatment of senile hypertension with insomnia.Methods Sixty cases were randomized into treatment group and control group,30 cases in control group were treated with Amlodipine Besilate(or Losartan Potassium) and Estazolam;30 cases in treatment group were treated with Erbai Jiangya Decoction,with the course of 28 days.The clinical efficacy,SDRS and HAMA were detected.Results The total effective rates were 93.3% and 86.7% in treatment group and control group respectively.No significant difference of clinical efficacy was found between the two groups(P0.05);the differences in SDRS,HAMA,systolic pressure and diastolic pressure were significant between before and after treatment in both groups(P0.01);after treatment,there was a significant difference of SDRS between treatment group and control group(P0.05).Conclusion Erbai Jiangya Decoction can regulate the blood pressure and relieve insomnia,acts well on senile hypertension with insomnia.
