Therapeutic Effect of Pinggan Jiangya Decoction for Hypertension with Hyperactivity of Liver Yang:An Observation of 23 Cases

Objective:To observe the therapeutic effect of Pinggan Jiangya Decoction(PJD) for hypertension with hyperactivity of liver yang.Methods:Forty-six qualified patients were equally randomized into 2 groups.The treatment group was given self-prescribed PJD,and the control group was given Amlodipine Tablets.Results:The total effective rate was 78.3% in the treatment group and 73.9% in the control group,the difference being insignificant between the two groups(P0.05).The total effective rate on TCM syndromes was 87.0% in the treatment group and 60.9% in the control group,the difference being significant between the two groups(P0.05).After treatment,the differences of systolic pressure and diastolic pressure were significant in the two groups { P0.05 compared with those before treatment),but were insignificant in the two groups(P0.05).Conclusion:PJD is effective for the treatment of hypertension with hyperactivity of liver yang.
