Abstract

Objective To evaluate the clinical efficacy of plasma exchange(PE)in treatment of severe hepatitis. Methods There 131 patients with severe hepatitis were randomly divided into observation groups consisted of 67 patients and treated with PE plus internal medicine and control group consisted of 64 patients treated only with inter nalmedicine.Thevariations of the clinical symptoms, the levels of serum ALT、 AST、 total bilirubin(TB)、albumin(ALB)and the prothrombin activities(PTA)were observed before and after treatment. Results The effective rates in observation group and control group were 61.2% and 39.1%(P0.05),respectively.The effective rate was 67.8% when PTA30% and 22.2% when PTA 20%,showing significant differences(P0.01).Conclusion The efficacy of PE plus internal medicine is significantly effective for treatment of sever hepatitis patients.
