Abstract
Objective To observe the relationship between helicobacter pylori(Hp) infection and nocturnal acid breakthrough(NAB)in patients with gastroesophagcal reflux disease(GERD).Methods 85 cases of GERD patients detected by rapid urase test with gastric antrum biopsy and 14C-UBT were diagnosed Hp positive. All of the cases were divided into two groups randomty including experimental group(43 cases)and control group(42 cases).Experimental group was given Hp eradication therapy, control group was treated with sodium pantoprazolc monotherapy,7 days as a course,24 h monitor of gastric pH and reflux disease questionnaire(RDQ)scores were compared before, and after treatment. Results The rate of NAB in experimental group was 62.79%,and the control group was 38.10%,the difference was significant(P0.05).There was significant difference in RDQ scores between the two groups after treatment(P0.05).Conclusion Hp infection could reduce the occurrence of NAB and protect GERD probably.
