Abstract
OBJECTIVE To observe the relationship between the Helicobacter pylori infection and gastroesophageal reflux disease nocturnal acid breakthrough so as to improve the curative effect of gastroesophageal reflux disease.METHODS A total of 140 patients with gastroesophageal reflux disease who were treated from Mar 2011 to Mar2012were enrolled in the study and randomly divided into the observation group and the control group, with 70 cases in each group;the observation group was treated with radical surgery for H.pylori, while the control group was not given the radical surgery;the nocturnal acid breakthroughs were recorded, the nocturnal acid breakthroughs were recorded from 22:00to 8:00of next day,and the pH value of gastric acid was determined.RESULTS The incidence of nocturnal acid breakthroughs of the control group was 32.9%,significantly lower than52.9%of the observation group(P0.05);there was no significant difference in the change of gastric pH or esophageal reflux symptom score between the two groups;however, there was significant difference in the change of gastric pH or esophageal reflux symptom score of the control group between before and after treatment(P0.05),indicating that the esophageal reflux symptom has recovered to a certain degree;there was no significant difference in the observation group between before and after treatment.CONCLUSIONThe H.pyloriinfection may contribute to the reduction of incidence of gastroesophageal reflux disease nocturnal acid breakthrough, and there is certain correlation between the two.
