Abstract
[Objective] To explore the expression and significance of Nuclear Matrix Protein (NMP)238 and heat shock protein (HSP)70 in cervical squamous cell cancer. [Methods] Immunohistochemical method for NMP238 and HSP70 were performed on 60 cases of cervical squamous cancer and 30 cases of normal cervical tissues. [Results] In cervical squamous cell cancer, the expressions of NMP238 and HSP70 were significantly higher than those of normal cervical tissues. However the expression of neither NMP238 nor HSP70 was significantly correlated with the pathological grade and clinical stages. The expression of NMP238 was significantly correlated with the expression of HSP70. [Conclusions] NMP238 and HSP70 play important roles in the genesis and development of cervical squamous cell cancer, and there may be some extent coordinated regulation among them. NMP238 and HSP70 can be an important index in predicting the prognosis of cervical squamous cell cancer.
