Abstract
Objective: To detect the expression of Bcl-2 and COX-2 in cervical squamous cell cancer and explore the clinical significance of Bcl-2 and COX-2 in the development of cervical squamous cell cancer. Methods: The expression of Bcl-2 and COX-2 in 40 cases of cervical squamous cell cancer and 10 cases of normal cervical tissue were detected by immunohistochemical SP method. Results:(1)The positive expression rates of Bcl-2 in normal cervical tissue and cervical squamous cell cancer were 30.0 % and 72.5%, respectively(P0.05).The positive expression rates of COX-2 in normal cervical tissue and cervical squamous cell cancer were 0.0% and 60.0%, respectively( P0.05).(2)The expression of Bcl-2 in cervical squamous cell cancer was not related with the histological grade, the clinical stage and the lymph node metastasis(P0.05), while the expression of COX-2 in cervical squamous cell cancer was related with the histological grade and the lymph node metastasis(P0.05), but not related to the clinical stage(P0.05).(3)The expression of Bcl-2 was positively correlated with the expression of COX-2(r =0.517, P0.05). Conclusion: The upregulation of Bcl-2 and COX-2 expression which were positively related were involved in the development of cervical squamous cell cancer, they may be used as indicators of the prognosis of cervical squamous cell cancer.
