Abstract
Objective: To explore the effect of leonurus heterophyllus solution (LHS) on blood dynamics in disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC) rats. Methods: DIC models were made by Dextran 500 injection and studied by mesenteric microcirculation, determination of hemorheology and blood flow volume. Results: Micro-vessels contraction, slow micro-blood flow and micro-thrombus were observed after Dextran 500 injection. Micro-vessels dilated obviously after LHS treatment and score values of blood flow and micro-thrombus were significantly lower than those in normal saline (NS) treated group (P 0.05). The micro-area blood flow volume of stomach, intestine and liver increased in LHS and NS groups, and the effect of former was superior to that of NS group (P 0.05). LHS could reduce the blood viscosity and inhibit platelet aggregation and increase the deformity ability of RBC. Conclusion: LHS can efficiently treat DIC through the micro-vessel dilating, organ blood flow volume increasing, blood viscosity reducing and platelet aggregation inhibiting.
