Abstract
Objective: To investigate the therapeutic effects of alkaloids from Herba Lagopsis on blood dynamics in experimental rats with disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC) during the recovery phase. Methods: Thirtyfour rat models with DIC were replicated by injecting dextran 500. The intervention effects on diameter of microcirculation, microregion blood flow volume of organ and platelet function were observed by the method of testing mesenteric microcirculation, microregion blood flow volume of organ, hemorrheology and platelet function during the recovery phase of DIC. Results: After dextran 500 injection, the microcirculatory dysfunction appeared, showing dilation of microblood vessels, slower microblood flow and microembolization. The abnormalities of hemorrheology showed high viscosity and increased platelet aggregative rate. Alkaloids from Herba Lagopsis could significantly dilate the microblood vessels. The scores of flow state and microembolism in alkaloids from Herba Lagopsis treatment group were significantly lower than those of normal saline (NS) control group, the microregion blood flow volumes of stomach, intestine and liver were superior to those of NS group, and whole blood viscosity, relative viscosity, platelet adherent rate and aggregative rate were markedly lower and the deformity ability of red blood cell increased than those of the NS group. Conclusion: Alkaloids from Herba Lagopsis can efficiently treat DIC through the dilation of microblood vessels, increase of blood flow volume of organs, reduction of blood viscosity and platelet aggregation.
