Abstract

The southern segment of Taihang Mountainous Region,located in the southeast of Shanxi,112°26′～113°35′E,35°10′～37°8′N.There is various wild plant resources in the mountainous region,including spermatophyte 125 families,456 genera,976 species based on the survey.According to their economic uses.they are divided into 12 groups:(1)fiber plants 98;(2)oil plants 147;(3)fragrant plants 66;(4)tannin plants 65;(5)starch plants 98;(6)fruit plants 136;(7)honey plants 88;(8)forage plants 166;(9)medicinal plants 426;(10)farm chemical plants 72;(11)vegetable plants 68;(12)ornament plants 239.Moreover,some strategies for protecting and utilizing the wild plant resources are discussed.
