Abstract
Objective To evaluate the performance Olympus AU2700 biochemical analyzer in the measurement of serum calcium(Ca).Methods According to the criteria listed out in NCCLS Document EP10-A2,the concentrations of serum Ca were determined consecutively for 5 days using an Olympus AU2700 biochemical analyzer and homemade reagents. Results were collected and the correlation coefficient, linear equation, bias and imprecision was calculated using the software Microsoft Office Excel.Multiple regression procedure described in EP10-A2 document was used to estimate the intercept, slope, sample carry-over,nonlinearity and linear drift, and the significance of each parameter were analyzed by one sample T-test.Results At the serum Ca concentration of 2.28 mmol/L(low-),2.75 mmol/L(mid-) and 3.30 mmol/L(high-value),the bias was 0.02 mmol/L,-0.03 mmol/L and 0 mmol/L,and the total imprecision was 1.29%,1.48% and 1.10%,respectively.The bias and total imprecision did not exceed 1/3 of total allowable error of CLIA′88.The intercept, slope, sample carry-over,nonlinearity or linear drift were not different from the predicted value(zero)(P0.05).Conclusion Homemade reagents can be used in the Olympus AU2700 biochemical analyzer for the clinical application.
