Abstract
Kang You-wei's thought on the Meiji Japan is not only an important part of his ideology, but also the backbone of the guiding ideology in the constitutional reform and modernization.Through empirical research such as the survey on knowledge acquisition about Meiji Japan in the late Qing Dynasty, the channels for Kang You-wei to acquire the Meiji Japan reform ideas, the Japanese reference books used in compiling Annals of Japan and so on,the conclusions are generalized as the following: although Kang You-wei's thought on the Meiji reform, such as learning from Japan, has far-reaching significance and guides the direction of Modern China' reform,it's still in a fragmented, superficial level and shouldn't be overestimated, just like the other bureaucracy and intellectuals' relevant thought in Qing Dynasty, for the severe shortage of relevant information and the great pressure from the strong Confucian background.
