A study of the variation of Huang Zunxian's view on Japan from the alterations of Poems on Japanese Affairs

As one of the first works introducing the Meiji Reformation of Japan,Poems on Japanese Affairs has an important effect in acquainting the Chinese with Japan and making them realize problems China faced and ways of its development.There are lots of differences between the 'last edition' and the 'original edition'.The alterations of the poetry anthology Huang Zunxian made ten years after the publication means his reconsideration and re-evaluation of Japan.From studying its differences we can see that his democratic thought gradually formed and deepened his realization of Japan,which symbolized the view on Japan of the advanced intellectuals at that time.
