Abstract
The native green groundcover plants were described in terms of their advantages and important position in the city and compared with exotic plants regarding growing requirements,the cost of management and the different aspects of landscape effects.Measures to develop some ground cover plants in order to enrich the diversity of urban greening were proposed.
