Abstract
According to a set of selecting principles, 40 species of native groundcover plants with high ornamental value were screened out for urban greening and beautification based on the investigation into the corresponding resources in Zhejiang Province. Evaluation was made on the landscaping utilization of these species in the light of their distribution, habitats and ornamental values. The present application status of the native groundcover plants in landscaping purposes was expounded and some suggestions were put forward in this paper for further exploitation and utilization of these plant resources.
