The fission of ideal life and the reconstruction of national morality

By analyzing Shen Congwen's periods of living in Western Hunan and big cities,this paper points out that under the collision between Western Hunan civilization and city civiliza-tion,Shen Congwen had his ideal of reconstructing the national quality,hoping that the integration of the two civilizations would help to create a big and powerful nation.
