Abstract
Objective: To investigate the total flavonoids content in different varieties of Taishan Codonopsis lanceolata, and provide the basis for quality evaluation and reasonable utilization of Taishan C. lanceolata varieties. Methods: The content of total flavonoids was determined by UV spectrophotometry, with rutin as a standard, the detection wavelength was 510 nm. Results: The content of total flavonoids in three Taishan C. lanceolata tested varieties were 1. 32%,1. 59%,1. 38%,the content of total flavonoids in the Taishen No. 1 was 1. 11%. Conclusion: The differences between the content of total flavonoids in three varieties of Taishan C. lanceolata,as compared with the total flavonoids content of Taishen No. 1,all reached the extremely significant level. Total flavonoids content of Tai Shen No. 3 was significantly higher than that of the Taishen No. 2 and Taishen No. 4 and it shows apparant heterosis.
