Control study of Paroxetine combined quetiapine on refractory depression

Abstract

Objective It is to observe the curative effect and safety of Paroxetine combined quetiapine on refractory depression.Methods 64 patients with refractory depression were randomly divided into two groups.Study group was treated with Paroxetine combined quetiapine.Control group was treated with Paroxetine only.The treatment courses of the two groups were both twelve weeks.The curative effect and safety of the two groups before treatment and after treatment for four,eight and twelve weeks were evaluated with HAMD and TESS.Results The HAMD score of study group after treatment for four weeks was obviously lower than that before treatment and that of control group.The excellence rate of study group was 57% and that of control group was 25%,and there was significant difference(P0.05).There was no significant difference on TESS score between the two groups.Conclusion Paroxetine combined quetiapine has better curative effect and high safety on refractory depression.
