Clinical application of ProTaper NiTi manual file in root canal therapy for primary molars

Objective To compare the clinical outcomes of using ProTaper manual file and stainless steel hand file in root canal therapy for primary teeth.Methods Fifty primary molars requiring root canal therapy in 47 children of 4-8 years old were equally randomized into two groups of A(using ProTaper NiTi flies with crown down technique) and B(stainless steel file with step back technique).The preparation time,postoperative reactions and the quality of root canal filling radiographically with vitapex were compared between two groups.Results Compared to group B,the preparation time of group A was shorter with better filling efficiency and less postoperative reactions(P0.05).Conclusion Compared to stainless steel file with step back technique,ProTape manual file has the advantages of shorter time spent on preparation,better filling efficiency and less postoperative reactions in root canal therapy for primary molars.
