Experience of clinical application with proTaper hand nitinol file in root canal preparation

Objective To compare the clinical effect of root canal preparation by using hand nitinol file and stainless steel file.Methods 113 teeth of 82 patients required root canal therapy were included randomly in this study.Experimental group was prepared by ProTaper files with crown down technique.Control group was prepared by stainless steel files with step-back technique.The root canals were filled with lateral condensation technique.The following parameters were evaluated:preparation time,postoperative reactions and curative effect.Results Experimental group had less preparation time and preoperative reactions than control group,and had higher incidence of proper filling than control group.Conclusion ProTaper nitinol file prepared root canal rapidly and low incidence of pain and had high quality of root canal filling.
