Abstract
Objective: To explore the effect of combined therapy with valsartan and indapamide on senile hypertension. Methods: A total of 81 cases with senile hypertension admitted from Jan.2008 to Jan.2010 were randomly divided into observation group(41 cases) and control group(40 cases). All patients had drug withdrawal for more than 1 week.Patients in control group were treated with valsartan 80 mg per day for 4 weeks, and observation group with indapamide 1.25 mg per day for 4 weeks. Results: Diastolic and systolic pressure and total efficiency in observation group were significantly different from those in control group(P0.05).Conclusions: Combined therapy with valsartan and indapamide is effective on treatment of senile hypertension.
