The clinical observation of valsartan singly or drug combination in senile hypertension

Objective To observed the clinical efficacy of valsartan singly or drug combination in senile hypertension.Methods 80 cases patients with senile hypertension were treated by valsartan(use valsartan group).4 weeks later,All patients with senile hypertension were randomly divided into A group and B group,each of 40 cases.Based on the valsartan,A group was treated by felodipine,B group was treated by hydrochlorothiazide.Blood pressure measurement for once every two weeks.After treatment,compared the clinical efficacy of valsartan singly or drug combination in senile hypertension.Results The total effective rate of A group(92.50%) was higher than that of valsartan singly(68.75%),the total effective rate of B group(90.00%) was higher than that of valsartan singly(68.75%),the difference was statistically significant(P 0.01).Conclusion Valsartan alone in hypertension was secure and reliable,drug combination can effectively improve the antihypertensive effect.
