Abstract

Objective:To study the antioxidetion effect of polyhydroxystibene extracted from grape seed in rabbits model of hyperlipidemia. Methods:Forty rabbits were divided into 5 groups (normal control, hyperlipidemia model, and low, middle, high grape seed extract groups),then the blood samples were collected by intracardiac puncture at lst,6th,12th weekends respectively and the serum MAD,GSH PX,RBC SOD activities were measured. Results: Compared with hyperlipidemia model group, increasement of serum MDA was lower while that of GSH PX,RBC SOD was higher in low, middle, high grape seed extract groups, and the dose dependent relationship was observed. Conclusion:Polyhydroxystibene extract from grape seed can inhibit the reaction of lipidoxidation and increase the ability of antioperxidation in hyperlipidemia rabbits.
