Abstract

The fifteen perennial gramineous forage varieties of seven genera were introduced and performance test was carried out in the winter and spring degradation grassland of Yushu county. The test results of two years showed that the fifteen varieties all could normal winter in the area and complete the growth period.Forage yield and seed yield comparison showed that the highest hay yield of E.sibiricus L.'Tongde' was 10030.8 kg· hm~(-2) in the second year, and the seed yield of E.Breviaristatus Keng f.'Tongde'was the highest,up to 2986.7 kg ·hm~(-2).The growth periods of all forages could be completed and the heights, coverage and forage yields of all in the second year were higher than the first year. The forage grasses of all tested varieties had greater productivity and better adaptability to the ecological environment of Yushu. Therefore, all tested varieties are suitable for promotion in Yushu area.
