Abstract
Objective To observe bactericidal efficacy and storing stability of electrolyzed oxidizing water(EOW). (Method) suspension quantitative germicidal test and physico-chemical analysis method were used to carry out laboratory study. Results The redox potential of the EOW was 1181 mV.Its pH value was 2.02 and its available chlorine content was 192.5 mg/L.The EOW containing available chlorine 19.25 mg/L with a 1 min contact time killed 100% of both Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus in suspension. After the EOW was stored at 54℃ under air-tight condition for 14 days, its redox potential and pH value did not change essentially and its available chlorine decreased by 49%.(Conclusion) The EOW has good germicidal efficacy, but its available chlorine content decreased significantly after storing.
