Abstract
Objective:To investigate the efficacy of compound trabeculectomy in treatment of neovascular glaucoma. Methods:Thirteen cases(14 eyes) of neovascular glaucoma were treated by compound trabeculectomy. The anterior chamber depth, intraocular pressure, visual acuity and the complications were observed after operation. All the cases were followed up for 3 to 12 months. Results:No persistent shallow anterior chamber was observed. And postoperative complications including anterior chamber inflammation, hyphema and cornea disappeared after treatment.Postoperative intraocular pressure of the 14 cases was controlled between 10 and 24 mmHg.The visual acuity of 2 cases improved, and the others had no change. Conclusions:The compound trabeculectomy is safe, effective and economic in treatment of neovascular glaucoma.
