The Analysis for 330 hospitalized children,blood culture results of specimens

Objective To understand our hospital for children to do two-phase blood culture bottle results and blood infections pathogens. Methods Children with blood culture specimens were incubated with box culture,strains were isolated from the French Merieux ATB Expression system identification. Results 330 cases of blood culture samples of bacteria were isolated from 40,the total positive rate of 12. 12% ,of which Gram-positive bacteria accounted for 67. 5% ,32. 5% negative bacteria. Double positive blood culture rate 14. 67% ,a positive blood culture rate of 10. 0%. Conclusion The hospital blood infections in children with Gram-positive cocci,Staphylococcus aureus 22. 5% ,20. 0% Staphylococcus epidermidis,17. 5% followed by Escherichia coli. Double than single blood culture positive blood culture rates were 4. 67% ,should be taken to double the blood culture done to improve the positive rate.
